Duc in Altum

There are those who run in these days of winter, those fleeing on the first train and those who fight for gaps to be filled.
There are those who look away from their road, and those who forget their journey between the calls of their job, their career, their fake priorities, chasing away their dreams, re booking them for the next life .
Some people keep a hope for a new future, others struggle for it now, in their offices, in their houses, racing against time, against their three jobs and their lack of time for their sacrificed life projects.
Some people try to fly away from themselves, others will never find their real selves, in this winter of increasing light.
rejecting a love that recalls an idea of responsibility.

Refugees in the hearts of others, we try to listen over the voices, over the expectations of the world, taking shelter in the only real home that we carry in our hearts, pointing to the centre in order to fly high.

Do we really need to go away in order to be happy?
Light up your dreams and take off .

Do we need to go faster?

Do we need to gain more?
What the world really needs?

Christmas lights on via Merulana, evenings up and down on 80s music, watching Barberini’s fountain from the above, a glimpse at the burlesque show and a glance at the dreams that are missing. Under the Christmas tree a wish list that reminds of doubts and forgiveness accepted, of intimate lights and inner dark.
In the meantime we struggle between those who told us that we are never never enough , those who urges us to carry on and that inner voice that shouts out that we are the only ones that can shape our happiness.
But, what’s happiness?
There are some who find it in a polka dot handkerchief, others who discover it in a mushroom shaped pair of earrings or in lily on their cabinet.
There are those who would be happy knowing that they can subscribe to the gym, or finding out that they can buy a piece of furniture without having to sell it at the next moving.

“Social entrepreneurship is about realizing the capacity within each person to reshape a part of the world. It doesn't require elite education: it requires a backpack. It comes from first hand engagement with the world, from asking lots of questions and observing with a deep caring to understand. Social entrepreneurs are people that cannot stand to watch others suffer, people that cannot stand to others missing opportunities they should have” (1)

How much is happiness worth?

Ricordi...Volontariato a Calcutta

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I was told so so many things before leaving: that it would be tough and difficult, that I wouln't be able to bear the strain, the cultural diversity, the dirt, the traffic and poverty. I was told that Calcutta would have been a "punch in my stomach," that I would only want to take the first plane back home.

Freedom

---------------------------------------------------

Fat, tall, curvy, tattooed, skinny: behind the glass they wink at people passing in front of the old church.
It is said that freedom means matching desires to possibilities: in Amsterdam you can look for freedom in the city centre, wondering in the red light district, among coffee shops and vibrators sellers, or going for a boat house on the river, floating with the current. Also, there are those who find freedom in the possibility of creating their safety, biking around the city with their children in the front compartment, without a helmet, without fear.

Is freedom free?
